Analysis of "Taming of the Shrew" and "Morning Glory".
People's priorities set their unique behavior to accomplish the things they want the most. In the play "Taming of the shrew", Katherine exhibits more priorities on daily tasks rather than a one sided marriage/relationship. Her mindset goes against the people in the play's thoughts since they want Katherine married and far away. Katherine's husband want her to be more tame and obedient to his thoughts. In the film "Morning Glory" Becky relates to the attitude of Katherine, since she is a busy morning news assistant producer for channel 9. The work that she does demands much of her time, too much of her time to have a healthy relationship. Yet, Adam, Becky's boyfriend, relates to the ideas of Pertruchio, priority should be in the relationship. Society values different ideas based on priority and both of these text confirm the rule that relationships should be put before daily tasks.
"Pertruchio- I say it is the moon that shines so bright
Katherine- I know it is the sun that shines so bright
Hortensio- Say as she say, or we shall never go."

In a couple lines before this quote Katherine really wants to go to her father's house for the dinner they are supposed to be at. They are traveling along a dirt road in a horse and buggy around supper time. Pertruchio is trying to make it difficult for her by making her state things they both know is false. Since Katherine is a very headstrong woman he tries to make her to be more accepting and lenient by uttering fallacious. Of course Katherine knows these are definitely wrong but in stead of keeping up an argument she joins his views just to keep the together and get somewhere they need to be. This personality is basically identical to Becky's.
While Adam and Becky are in the hallway kissing, her phone rings. Adam pulls her phone out of her inside coat pocket and Becky insists that she answer it. Then he precedes down the hallway to put the phone in the fridge. Becky shows the behavior of putting work before relationships by not ignoring the phone call in the first place. She puts love on the side for things that could possibly be a carrer booster. Adam knows she is pushing herself too much and would like a break from work as well, since they are at the same company. Adam shows that his views on the subject should be hers as well and there is no middle. While in this scene they are partially kidding around, he shows Becky what he would like.
"Pertruchio- Katherine I charge thee tell these headstrong women,
what duty they do owe their husbands"
(Act 5, Scene 2, 144-146)

During some part of the dinner Bianca and Katherine leave. Luciento and Pertruchio make a bet as to who's wife is the most obedient. Katherine then comes out with the other wives and Pertruchio makes her give a speech to what they owe to their husbands. He wants every body at the feast to understand the importance of a relationship, married people or not.
Adam and Becky are eating chinese food in Adam's house. Becky is watching channel 9 and is trying to figure out how to bring the ratings of the channel up. Adam is annoyed and Becky turns the tv off. She continues to talk about work, he still looks annoyed and then she leaves his house feeling insecure about herself. In this spot in the movie Adam and Becky's relationship is at a rough spot because of their different priorities. Adam clearly values her and the relationship more than his job. Even though her role in the company is more important than his, he expects her to have the identical mindset. Adam feels that his love for her is not returned and expresses his dissatisfaction with the relationship.
